Normani Kordei Hamilton or professionally known as just singularly, Normani, is an American singer and dancer. . She has two older half sisters. Raised in New Orleans, she and her family relocated to Houston, Texas, after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. From the age of 3, Normani had competed in dance, gymnastics and beauty pageants. She performed gospel music as a child, and recorded her first song at age 13. Normani identifies as Christian.

She is a former member of the girl group Fifth Harmony. In 2017, she was a finalist in season 24 of Dancing with the Stars. Her first single as a soloist, the 2018 duet "Love Lies" with Khalid, recorded for the film Love, Simon, reached number 9 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Normani was later featured on songs from Jessie Reyez and Quavo. She also collaborated with Calvin Harris on the two-single EP Normani x Calvin Harris, and released the single "Waves" featuring 6lack in November of 2018. Her song with Sam Smith, "Dancing with a Stranger" was released in January 2019, It became her second top ten hit on the US Billboard Hot 100. Normani's debut solo album is set to be released in early 2019 by RCA/Keep Cool Records.


Normani has sold approximately eleven million units worldwide, as a solo artist. Just one year into her solo career, she became the fastest solo artist (without an album) to surpass one billion combined streams on Spotify.  Normani’s song “Love Lies” charted the Mainstream Top 40 charts for forty five weeks, tying the record for longest charting song on the chart with Dua Lipa’s “New Rules”. “Love Lies” also stayed in the Top 10 region of the chart for twenty six weeks, making it the first song by a female or black artist(along with Khalid) to do so. Normani is also the first artist to win a iHeartradio Titanium award for their debut song after “Love Lies” earned one billion total audience spins. MTV has referred to as her the "New Princess of Pop", while Rolling Stone described her as a "R&B Princess". Source.
